Laya – A Modern Farm House Retreat
The Space
A 1,500 sq ft farmhouse set within an acre and a half of lush landscape, anchored by three magnificent, decades-old mango trees. Framed by the rugged beauty of Hyderabad’s rocky terrain, this home was envisioned as an escape—a serene holiday-style retreat with nature as its backdrop.
The Ask
Our client wanted an airy, light-filled home that broke away from convention—no browns, no wood tones, just a crisp palette of whites and blue-greys. They desired a space that felt open, modern, and personalised, while harmonising seamlessly with the surrounding landscape. Early involvement allowed us to make key structural changes, such as removing central living room walls, to create a flowing and connected layout.
The Result
The transformation redefined the space into a modern farmhouse with timeless appeal. Sunlight dances through the open-plan interiors, where the cool, coastal-inspired palette contrasts beautifully with the earthy landscape outside. The gardens, designed to embrace the property’s natural contours, highlight the wisdom and grace of the three aged mango trees—offering a perfect balance between built form and the poetry of nature.
